JOB TITLE: Driver
STATUS: Non-Exempt (Permanent or Seasonal Position)
SUMMARY
Destination Systems dba Telluride Express, Alpine Express, Steamboat Express, MAWS, Dial-a-Ride, Aspen Transportation, and Roaring Fork Express are year-round, full-service, ground transportation companies dedicated to providing safe, prompt, and professional service. We provide daily scheduled, shared ride shuttles to/from the airport, rideshare, or private vehicle services. Telluride Express, Alpine Express, Steamboat Express, MAWS, and Roaring Fork Express also operate local and charter service to any destination and provide all wedding and special event transportation needs.
Telluride Express, Alpine Express, Steamboat Express, MAWS, and Roaring Fork Express operate 24/7/365 days per year.
Duties include carrying out functions pertaining to the safe, courteous, and efficient operation of assigned vehicles. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, employing defensive driving techniques, maintaining professional courtesy, making public address announcements, properly answering questions and solving concerns of passengers, and exercising prudent judgment under a variety of constantly changing operating conditions. This is a safety-sensitive position subject to the rules and regulations of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and the Colorado Public Utilities Commission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Excellent driving skills and good knowledge of traffic rules and regulations.
2. Excellent customer service and communication skills.

4. Transport passengers to and from predetermined locations.
5. Perform a Vehicle Inspection Report on each vehicle to ensure the vehicle is safe to drive.
6. Document any safety defects through Samsara, and to the dispatcher or the fleet staff.
7. Obey all traffic rules and regulations guiding the operation of transportation services.
8. Adhere to the Hours of Service rules.
9. Maintain exceptional customer service skills to be able to relate effectively with passengers.
10. Greet customers, help them enter the vehicle, and assist in the loading/unloading of luggage.
11. Maintain appropriate communication with and follow directions from the dispatcher.
12. Collect fares and cash pending fares from passengers.
13. Complete appropriate company paperwork.
14. Report accidents or other traffic disruptions to dispatchers.
15. Keep the vehicle neat and clean and wash the vehicle after each shift.
16. Dress in a neat and professional manner in accordance with Telluride Express, Alpine Express, Steamboat Express, MAWS, and Roaring Fork Express dress code.
17. Assist disabled passengers, when requested.
18. Basic math skills are required for proper documentation of work details.
19. Commit to scheduled shifts, with flexibility in mind for weekends and special events.
20. Keep in mind this may be a seasonal position.
21. Hours include weekdays, weeknights, weekends, and holidays.
22. Other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
1. High School diploma, completion of G.E.D., or equivalent.
2. While the FMCSA requires drivers to be at least 21 years old.
3. A valid regular or commercial driver’s license with 10 or fewer points on the Motor Vehicle Record.
4. Receive a negative pre-employment controlled substances test result.
5. Qualify for a fingerprint-based criminal history record check.
6. Highly self-motivated and directed.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

4. Become physically qualified to drive by obtaining a Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
5. Ability to exert in excess of 50 lbs. constantly to move luggage.
